Santa came to town!

I've been loving reading all the Christmas posts that have come up on my dash recently and thought I would make my contribution!

Santa most definitely thought I was good this year (really?!) and left me some amazing presents!

I received a handbag for work, tall UGG Bailey Button Boots, Family Guy Season 11, Alice in Wonderland DVD, candles, sheet music, jewelry, a tea for one kettle/cup/saucer set, iPhone Unicorn Case (LOVE!), chocolate, festive socks, MAC makeup and some slippers.

The main thing I got this Christmas from my parents was a piano. It is absolutely amazing and I was gobsmacked when they brought it. I've recently started to take lessons to improve on my pre-existing skills and I am so happy when I play! They also brought me some Disney sheet music to play too which I was delighted to receive.

Christmas has always a magical time of year for me. For once, me and my family could sit around a table at the same time, feast on delicious food and enjoy quality time together. With my sister recently moving to university and me working two jobs, family time has been a rarity and it was so lovely to all be together at the same time and place. This Christmas we did just that and I had a fantastic magical day.

London Town Part One

In August, me and my family took a small break to London, and I safely say that it was the highlight of my summer. It was a perfect mix of shopping, sightseeing and fun, and most importantly, quality time with the people who matter the most.

On the first day, we visited SeaLife near the River Thames which was absolutely stunning! I believe an aquarium is something that you should definitely visit at least once, as these are beautiful and enchanting places which make you appreciate nature in all it's weird and wonderful forms. There was an array of underwater animals, ranging from your standard goldfish to full blown sharks!

The main attraction was a huge tank containing fish (predominately sharks) which ran through the aquarium. This allowed you to get a good view of the larger fish no matter where you were standing in the aquarium. You could even walk over this massive tank upon exit, which made it look like you were walking on sharks. (There was a poor old lady who refused to walk over it as she feared the glass might have broken). I thought this was a fantastic idea, as the centre gets extremely full with budding tourists, and sometimes it is difficult to get a good look at the fish, which is what you're paying for!

I think my favourite attraction was the penguins. They were so unbelievably cute, I just wanted to sneak one in my bag and take it home! We also touched a block of ice which was from Antarctica, and saw instructions regarding what to do if you ever encountered a wild penguin. One can dream! There was also an adorable little tank full of the fish from Finding Nemo. Which I also wanted to steal.....

I was amazed by the fact that you were allowed to touch some of the animals under supervision of the staff. I'm even more amazed at the fact that I actually touched a starfish! It was surprisingly lukewarm and very squidgy. I can't really compare it to anything, but it was squidgier (funny word!) than what I expected it to be, as I thought that they would be hard to the touch.

Unfortunately we weren't allowed to use flash photography, as this would disturb the fish, but I managed to capture a few shots on my trusty iPhone. Sorry for the bad quality!

Long time no see...

Wow! I really have well and truly neglected my blog! It's been almost four months since I've blogged, but I am back!

I've completely changed my blog layout and design, which I think has motivated me to post more often. Considering the fact that I am really pants with HTML and CSS and I'm proud of how it's turned out :)

This is only a short post to let you know that I am alive, and I will do a proper post tomorrow :)

NOTD Heartbeat- 17

♥ I've recently had a wave of nail polish obsession, and my collection has expanded rapidly! My sister brought me this 17 polish in Heartbeat for my birthday, and I've only just discovered how pretty it is! It's a gorgeous pastel blue which is perfect for summer days (which are non existent at the moment)! However, it was pretty streaky on application and required two coats for an even colour. I put on two coats regardless, so this didn't really bother me. I think it's on offer as part of 3 for 2 on cosmetics in boots, so it's definitely worth picking up :)

♥ I've been really busy with revision recently which is why I haven't been posting and making videos, but I do have a 10 day break between two of my exams so I'll try and blog again or make a video then. I'd just like to wish everyone good luck with exams, and the hard work will pay off!

♥ Also, just a quick note that Debenhams have 10% off beauty online including MAC and benefit until Saturday. With payday approaching, I think I may treat myself!

♥ Before I start this post, I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who read my post about the blogging community. I'm not one to rant all the time, but it had been on my mind for a while, and I was relieved to find out that I wasn't the only one who felt the same! I'd also like to say a massive thank you to Sinead from DaintyDollyMix who retweeted the post :) Once again, thank you for all your comments and tweets, and I think I might have followed you all back on Twitter! If i haven't feel free to tweet me and I will :)

♥ So, I've recently felt as though I WANT to blog again, and I thought that a post like this would maybe get me back into the swing of things. The "monthly favourites" post seems to be popular in the blogging world so I thought I'd give it a shot too!

1) Royal Wedding

♥ Okay, so this isn't a product but honestly, who didn't enjoy this? It truly was a Disney wedding and Kate looked beautiful! In order to celebrate we had family over and we had a BBQ for the first time using disposable barbecues. The day was lovely and sunny and no-one died of food poisoning so I can safely say it was a good day!

2) MAC- Marine Life Highlight Powder

♥ I'd just like to apologise for the bad picture, my camera's dead so I'm using my iPhone. Unfortunately the picture doesn't do it much justice, but this blush is absolutely gorgeous. I snapped it up last year yet I've only just started using it! It did have a shimmery seahorse on it, but it all came off on the brush :( I can remember this being a hot product last year, and I can see why! It has a beautiful bright peachy coral side, as well as a muted peach side. I prefer to swirl my brush over all of it to get a good mix of the colours, but you can also use one. I love duo blushers, purely because you can get so much out of them! I literally wore this everyday last month, and I'm dumbstruck as to why I haven't used it before. I've also found another picture online of what the pretty seahorse looked like.

3) MAC- Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder.

♥ I've never used a finishing powder in my life before, but after I had a MAC makeover done for my birthday, I was amazed by how well this product worked! Finishing powders are always the kind of things that I overlook, purely because I set my foundation with MAC Studio Fix powder in the same colour as my foundation, so I never saw the need to get one. However, Ive changed the way I applied my under eye concealer, and this product really helps it set and last til the end of the day. Because I've started doing my undereye concealor a la Kim Kardashian, I can't really use a darker powder to set my undereye makeup without looking like a clown, so I opted for this, and I am impressed. What I love the most about this product is that you can use it for everything, and you only need the tiniest amount of it to work. A few days before I brought the MAC one, I brought a cheap alternative (I can't remember which one), which didn't come out transparent, and made me look like the walking dead, therefore I went back to MAC and got this, which I don't regret! I use it nearly everyday to set my concealer as well as the rest of my face.

4) MAC Vegas Volt, MAC Pink Noveau

♥ I've always been a fan of bright colours, and these are no exception. I brought both of these last month, and I'm currently alternating between both. The woman at the MAC counter pretty much forced me into buying Vegas Volt, saying that it was perfect for olive skin. When I tried it on, I could see exactly what she meant! I don't think I have to go into much detail about Pink Noveau. It's just a beautiful bright pink which doesn't completely dry out my lips. You can see me wearing this lipstick in my Adele cover here.

6) 17 Lasting Fix Nail Polish in Woo Me.

♥ I'm so lazy when it comes to nail varnishes, and I literally wear one all month round. This month is was this 17 one. Its an amazing dusky pink colour (even though it looks purple in the picture), but it does need a good few coats in order to get the best out of the colour. I've had a lot of compliments about this nail varnish at work whilst I've been on the till, so I'm guessing its a popular one!

♥ For those of you who follow me on twitter, you will know that I had a coursework deadline on Friday and I pulled an all nighter thursday night to get it perfect. I literally threw the 2000 page commercial law textbook deep in my cupboard after I handed it in, and I never want to see it again! However, despite my all night stint, I still had the energy to pop into a few shops and this is what I picked up :)

♥ I picked up these items from Miss Selfridge, who had a massive sale on. I always find amazing bargains in their sales, especially on the jewelery front. I managed to pick up the cute stone bracelet as well as the earrings for an amazing £2!! An absolute bargain when the bracelet was originally £6 and the earrings £12! Unfortunately, the unicorn brooch wasn't in the sale, but I got it for £6.30 with my 10% student discount. I have this thing for unicorns, and whenever I see something with it, I HAVE to get it. Weird I know, but it's so prettyful! :)

Every rose has it's thorn

Dear bloggers,

♥ Something has come to my attention which I need to get off my chest regarding blogging. When I first discovered the beauty community, I thought it was incredible. I literally spent a day in bed after my exams glued to my laptop, reading blog after blog of people sharing honest reviews of products, showing bargains and also the latest trends. It was after this that I started up my own blog. As some of you may know, I am a singer on YouTube, and wanted to use my blog mainly to keep my supporters updated as to what I'm up to. I never intended my blog to be purely about beauty, and to be honest, I'm glad that I made that choice.

♥ I've recently taken the blogging backseat (if such thing exists) and have been reading other people's blogs rather than updating my own. This is due to the fact that juggling a strenuous Law degree, keeping up my social and personal life as well as trying to break into the music industry has left me with little to no time to sleep, let alone to blog. Since I've been in this backseat (which very comfy I may add), I've noticed the uglier side to blogging.

♥ The first thing I've noticed is that blogging has become a race. A race to get the latest iPhone or gadget. A race to get the ENTIRE new MAC collection and post swatches. A race to get the newest Mulberry. And sadly, it is normally people who are made out of money, or waste money on material things that have the most followers. Prime example; I posted about a drugstore spree which gained literally a quarter of the views that my MAC post got. I think it's sad that people overlook cheaper items which do exactly the same job as pricier lines, purely for the name.

♥ And seriously? Is there any need to buy the WHOLE of the new collection if you're not a makeup artist or actually need it? That money could have been used on something else, or saved. I couldn't fathom buying an entire collection, and to be fair, MAC's collections have been a disappointment recently, and I can only see myself using up a couple of items from each collection, but never all of them. Whenever somewhere launches a new collection, whether it be clothes or makeup, instead of running to get my wallet, I ask myself whether I actually need the product. Sadly, I did go through a phase where I only wanted items because people gave them good reviews, or it was a biggie in the beauty sphere. So ladies, next time you see someone blog about a new lipstick or blush, don't rush and get it because everyone else in the blogging community has it, ask yourself whether you could see YOURSELF wearing it, or whether it would suit YOU. If not, save the money or find something that you would actually use.

♥ I'm sure you all have seen blogs grow. It's what we all want really isn't it? We want to know that people like what we write, and would come back to read more. It's lovely when you come across a fantastic blog with a few followers, which over time gets the recognition it deserves. However, it's not so nice when the bloggers become conceited over the number of followers they have, and fancy themselves as some kind of celebrity. Not only does this actually make you LOSE followers, it also makes you look like a complete idiot. You blog about clothes and makeup, not breaking global news! At the end of the day, we should blog because we enjoy doing it, not to see who can gain the most followers.

♥ Has anybody else noticed a similar trend on twitter? People literally shove their twitter links in your face and beg you to follow them for a follow back in the early days, but as soon as they hit 1000+ they start to unfollow people to look "cool". Not so cool when these are the people who helped spread the word about your blog, and want you to be a recognized blogger. I've had such experiences on twitter where I have tried to contact beauty bloggers about a product or asked a question regarding their post, only to be blanked. I'm not going to lie, due to my busy schedule, I sometimes don't reply straight away, but I do eventually reply. It's a completely different story if you have 10k+ followers and people are tweeting you left right and centre, and it is physically impossible to reply, but when you see people who literally tweet 24/7, it is blatant that they are being ignorant. I don't know about you, but I feel so bad if I ignore someone on twitter purposely, and I try (genuinely) to reply to everyone, because at the end of the day, I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for the people who support me :)

♥ I really think that people should show their personalities more on here, because at the end of the day, that speaks more than what you slap on your face or choose to put on in the morning. It's all well and good showing everyone what you brought on your latest shopping spree, but without showing a bit of personality on your blog, you just seem like a robot with a credit card. I've noticed that all the blogs I tend to follow aren't solely beauty blogs, because I get a bit tired of reading the same thing over and over again.

♥ I really hate posting ranty blogs, but I just had to get this off my chest, because it's been putting me off blogging for ages. In a nutshell, what I'm really trying to say, is that some bloggers should really get their heads out of their arses and get their feet back on the ground. This could be such a lovely online community if we let it be one :) Thank you for reading this and feel free to comment!

H&M Haul

♥ Last week I went to the student lock in at H&M, where everything was 20% off with a valid student card. I heard about this event on facebook, and decided to raid the shop at 7pm with my good friend Karen :) I always find H&M a bit of a hit and miss shop, as I only really ever go in there for strappy tops and essentials. Smaira from Dollymixfits requested this blog post, so I hope she enjoys this! I did manage to find some bargains, and some items of clothing which I LOVE!

♥ I absolutely love this top! It goes so well with skinny jeans, leggings, skirts, and is perfect for layering. Alot of the staff were sporting this number and they all wore it in different ways which was enough to convice me to buy it. I think it's perfect for the transition into spring, and the colour is amazing. There were also other colours in this top, such as a dusky pink and black, but I thought this colour went the best with my skin tone. I brought this top in M because I thought it looked better worn slouchy rather than fitted.

♥ I fell in love with this pretty jacket when I saw it. Pink + floaty + butterflies = Buy. It's perfect for a romantic look, and can be dressed up or dressed down as required.

♥ When I'm at university I always throw on a baggy jumper and leggings to lectures, so this jumper was a steal. It's also really snuggly and feels really really soft! I got this jumper in a size 14 (rather than my standard 8) for added "cotch" value, and I really don't want to take it off! I've been looking for a leapord print scarf for ages, and I found this beauty for £1.60 :) It's great to jazz up a dull outfit, and also looks great tied onto handles of bags.

♥ I LOVE Nirvana, so I literally squealed when I saw this in H&M. I think it's the last place I'd expect to find a top like this! Band tees are always pretty hard to get hold of in women's sizes, so buying this was a no-brainer. However, I do hate how people wear Nirvana tees as a fashion statement and know nothing about the band and how amazing they are. :( :( Whilst I'm on the subject... R.I.P Kurt Cobain.

♥ Okay, so this isn't a H&M purchase, but this is something that I fell in love with in Topshop a couple of weeks back that deserves a mention.I was browsing on their website when I saw this gorgeous top just before I went to work, and told myself that I'd buy it when I got back. When I got back it was completely sold out :( :(. I checked on Ebay, and people were buying them for around £70! A week later, I saw it in the shop and literally elbowed a girl out the way to get the last one on the rail, and I'm so so glad I did because this top is A M A Z I N G. I love the antiqued pressed butterfly effect and the big flute sleeves. It's something completely different to what I normally wear and I get loads of people complimenting me when I wear it :).

Lace and Love Letters

♥ Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. I hope I'm not the only person to find Sundays a little awkward and depressing? It's always a day filled with last minute jobs that you didn't have time for during the week... e.g Seminar work. I Haven't been working Sundays for the past few weeks which has been lovely, because I get to spend a whole day with my family, and I can actually have a lie in for once!

♥ I went shopping with my mum and sisters today, and had a meal at Nandos to top it off. I managed to fill up my Nando's loyalty card, so we enjoyed a free whole chicken! I feel like an actually fatty thinking about how much chicken I've eaten to fill up the card, but it's so so so nice, and I genuinely think people who don't like it need a slap!

♥ There's a new shop opened up in Victoria Center which sells second hand DVDs where I managed to pick up three DVDs for a fiver! Amazing when you see places such as HMV still selling old DVDs for a tenner or more! I got my hands on Napoleon Dynamite, Moulin Rouge and Waynes World 2. Some people are really iffy about buying second hand cds and dvds. Where I work, we sell second hand games with exactly the same guarantee as anything brought new, yet people still go for the mint games which are literally double the price or more! Are you nuts?!

♥ The dress I'm in the picture is something I picked up from Matalan in the January sales for £10, reduced from £30! Although you can't really see it in the photo clearly, it's a peter pan collar dress which is a big trend for spring. I saw a dress in Topshop which is exactly the same for £45, so I'm glad I picked this one up!

♥ Loads of places on the net have been selling typewriter necklaces for extortionate prices. I'm dead cheap when it comes to jewelery, and I would never ever pay more than £15 for a kitsch necklace, because I know sites where you can buy the charms and make the damn necklace for a fiver or less! However, I saw this beauty in the Topshop sale in the summer for £2! Buying it was definitely a no brainer, and I've had loads of compliments when I wear it out :)

♥ Okay, so firstly, the reason I haven't been blogging is because I have literally been dying under the mountain of uni work that I've had to do! Late nights and early starts mixed with Redbull and endless cups of tea have definitely messed up my body clock, and I am finding it SO hard to catch some z's :( People have always warned me that doing a Law Degree was a death wish and I'm definitely starting to see the truth in that.. *if-you-want-to-do-a-law-degree-run-while-you-can*

♥ On a brighter note, THE FOO FIGHTERS HAVE RELEASED A TEASER OF THEIR NEW SONG. Being a huge fan of the Foos, this was probably the highlight of a somewhat shit week. Even though the teaser was only 30 seconds, my jaw was on the floor, (no word of a lie). I have been waiting for this record for so long, and it's sounding like everything I hoped for and more! Hearing Dave Grohl scream, and the the heavy guitars was jizzworthy. For those of you who haven't heard the clip yet, (what the hell have you been doing?!), you can hear it here. Word of advice? Turn it up, you will not be disappointed.

♥ I've recently hit 39,000 subscribers on YouTube, which is incredible. I'm so amazed at the amount of support I've gained on the site over the past few years, and I could never have imagined it to grow this much. It's absolutely overwhelming, and I couldn't thank everybody enough. I see myself as an ordinary girl who uploaded a video onto YouTube out of sheer boredom, and I never in a million years expected a huge following of lovely people!

♥ 2011 will be a fantastic year for music. I'm going to see some bands that I adore, such as Blink 182, Skindred and Chiodos. I was so lucky to get Blink 182 tickets, as I believe the whole of the UK tour is now sold out! I grew up listening to them, and going to see them live will be an experience I will never forget :)

I’ve recently noticed that I haven’t had the motivation to post anything on this blog. When I first started off this blog I wanted to go down the generic beauty route, posting about the things that I’ve brought, makeup reviews and fashion. However, it struck me earlier today that I’m no longer prepared to dedicate my blog to these things. As much as I love reading other people’s amazing blogs on fashion and beauty, I don’t feel happy writing about them anymore, because it’s not me. I am not a materialistic person, and I never will be. There is a person under all the makeup and clothes, and I want you to know her.

From now on, this blog will be dedicated to my life, memories, music and not just beauty and fashion. Don’t fear, because I will do the odd beauty post or review, but please understand it will not be the only thing that I will blog about.

To celebrate this news, I’ve changed my blog name to “Pearl of the Stars,” after one of my favourite songs by Coheed and Cambria, and given my page a fresh new look :)

I hope I don’t lose too many followers, and thank you for reading :)

Hello Ladies!

As most of us know Topshop is currently having a biggg sale! I'm not a fan of Topshop sales purely because there is NEVER anything decent in my size when I raid the racks. Never thought I would be saying this, but it's one of the only times I hate being a size 8-10! However, Topshop's jewellery in the sale is amazing. I hardly buy jewellery from Topshop at full price unless I fall in love with it, as places such as Primark or small boutiques in Nottingham often stock similar pieces for the fraction of the price.

Me and my mum went on a mission to find work wear for my work experience in a couple of weeks and I couldn't resist taking a peek at the Topshop section in Outfit, and I'm glad I did!

Can you believe all the Topshop items shown above were £1 each? The Diva earrings were from Miss Selfridge and were half price at £3. I also picked up this set of rings from Topshop a couple of days ago for a £1 as well :) They are lovely!

However, I did cave in and buy this gorgeous number at £12.50. I love all things Disney/ fairytale so this was a must buy!

I'm not dead! :)

So sorry for abandoning this blog over the past couple of months! Really had to dust the cobwebs! Lets just say, exams aren't a girl's best friend. Dresses on the other hand...

The whole world has been on a maxi-hype this summer, and I'm no exception. After searching high and low for the perfect maxi dress, I found this beauty in a shop in Nottingham that were selling gorgeous maxis at affordable prices.

This only cost me £25, which is a bargain considering some maxis are going for around £80 on the high street! I absolutely love this tribal style maxi, and dressed it up with wavy hair and wooden mixed bangles.

Law Ball and MAC Makeover

Hiya Girlies!

It was my Law Ball last night, and I want to share my night with you :) Every year I book a MAC makeover appointment for the annual ball, and this year was no different! You have to book these appointments well in advance, and have to pay £25 on the day you book. However, the £25 is fully redeemable, so after your makeover you can choose £25 of makeup for free!

Unfortunately I don't know all the names of the products he used, but I'm going back for some of the stuff next week, so I will find out for you!

Here are the eyes:

The lashes were amazing! They weren't too thick, and were fluttery & flirty! I also fake tanned, which turned out really well! I'm always a bit weary when fake tanning as I already have olive skin, but it gave me a lovely glow, and someone even asked me if I'd been abroad!

For my face, Ben highlighted the area under my eyes with a concealer that was lighter than my skin tone (weird but I'll blog about how you do this), which apparently is a staple for Kim Kardashian. He then applied Studio Fix fluid in N42, and buffed in some Mineralize Skin finish to give a glow :) On my cheeks he used "peaches" blush, which I purchased alongside "boy bait" lipgloss.

For my lips I used "Siss" lipstick and "boy bait" on top :)

MAC- Girl About Town Lipstick

This is possibly my favourite MAC lipstick for a night out with the girlies :) Dubbed as the "Cheryl" lipsick by the sales assistant at MAC, this beauty will make any girl feel fabulous! The colour itself is a bright fushia, so it's perfect for summer! It's an amplified lipstick (my favourite finish), so it's lovely and creamy on application. It also stains your lips slightly, so you don't lose the colour whilst you're out eating/drinking. I would team this with subtle eye makeup, to let your lips do the talking :)

This is just a quick post to show the cutest things I got my hands on yesterday! As some of you know, I work part time as a sales assistant in a game store, and when I found this pink xbox 360 controller, I fell in love. I've never seen a pink controller in the flesh before, and they are rare to find in store, so buying it was a must! With my staff discount it only cost me around £11 so it was a complete bargain, as controllers retail for around £35! It's hard finding cute things for girl gamers, as the game market mainly focuses on the male gaming audience, so seeing this was a pleasant surprise :) Also, to those who think that girls can't game can shove it! I love my xbox 360, and I am a huge fan of games :) I'll also get a picture up of my pink DS as well! It's beautiful!

The second item I picked up was a glass cupcake trinket from John Lewis. It was £6, and is perfect for storage. I'm going to use this for my kirby grips as they seem to go walkies whenever I buy a new pack! Do any of you girlies have this problem?? A pack of 50 never seems to last me more than a few months. Where do they all go :(! The trinket looks really pretty, and can be doubled up as an ornament, as well as storage! I'm currently obsessed with cupcakes!

Firstly, I want to apologise for the lack of posts! Anyway, here are a few things that I've accumulated from MAC recently :)

I desperately needed a half decent brush to apply my blusher with, and after visiting Space NK and seeing the variety of NARS brushes that they had to offer, I found myself back at MAC buying this beauty. It only cost me £22.50, and it is incredibly soft! I showed my sister, and she couldn't stop touching it! It picks up powder brilliantly without fallout, and gives me the precision and even application that I was looking for. If you are new to MAC brushes, I would definitely recommend this to start your brush kit :)

MAC "Peachstock Lipstick"

This is a lipstick from the new MAC Liberty of London collection. It's a gorgeous peachy/ brown nude, which suits my olive skin perfectly! When I first saw it, it reminded me of "Myth" by MAC. Myth is a really nice nude, but it completely dries out my lips :( However, Peachstock doesn't, which is surprising as they are both satin finishes. I teamed this up with MAC's "Just superb" pink lipgloss the other day, and it gave it a more pinky look, which is perfect for summer!

MAC "Perennial High Style" Lipgloss

This is one of the prettiest lipglosses I own! I swatched this instore, and I HAD to get it. It's a rich creamy light coral colour, with no shimmer. Perfect to wear on it's own, or to amplify a coral lipstick such as "Colour Me Coral" from the Spring Forecast collection.

MAC "Gold Deposit" Mineralize Skinfinish

I brought this skinfinish a good few months ago, but I think it deserves a mention :) Unlike most skinfinishes, you can't really use this all over your face, but it is perfect for summer or nights out! It can be applied as a shimmery bronzer when applied with a light hand, and can also be used to highlight cheekbones. Personally, I give my cheeks and nose a quick brush to give me a warm golden glow. As I already have olive skin, I don't need to apply much of this product, so I can see it lasting a long time. The only bad thing about this product is that it can get quite messy, and when used with a kabuki brush, it can spill out the compact. However, it is so so pretty, and is one of my staples :)

MAC Brush Cleanser

The best way to make your brushes last for a long time, is to clean them properly. This brush cleanser from MAC removes makeup quickly with little product. TIP: Never EVER use water to clean your brushes, as this will leave them feeling stiff and brittle! This is a great brush cleanser, and for £8 it's not bad at all! When you've spent alot of money on brushes, you need to take care of them, and this is a perfect way to show your brushes some lovin'!

The Life Before Her Eyes.

This afternoon I watched what was possibly one of the most moving, imaginative films I have ever seen. It was an American film called "The life before her eyes", directed by Vadim Pereman, and adapted from Laura Kasischke's novel of the same title.

The film is based around two best friends in their teens, Maureen (Eva Amurri) and Diana (Uma Thurman), who both live with different attitudes and perspectives to life. Maureen is a hard-working re-born Christian holding traditional views, whereas Diana spends her teenage years experimenting with drugs and sex. However, the lives of the two girls change forever when they find themselves victims of a high school shooting, held at gunpoint and are forced to make the terrifying decision of who will live and who will die.

The storyline is projected through the adult life of Diana, with flashbacks of their teen lives and the horrific shooting. The grown Diana faces tremendous feelings of guilt in her adult life relating to the shooting, and the life changing decision she had to make.

The film toys around with the idea of your life flashing before your eyes the moment that you die, in an extremely imaginative way, and the plot keeps you gripped right until the end credits. However, the ending cleverly introduces a big twist in the storyline, which will leave you asking which one of the girls actually sacrificed her life for her friend. The beauty of this film is that it is not predictable, and it doesn't spell everything out in black and white, which leaves you thinking about the film long after you've watched it.

The one thing that struck me about this film is it's underlying message, that a single decision, in a single moment, can change your life forever.

Here is a beautiful quote from the film:

"William James, that most American philosopher, once advised: "begin to be now what you will be hereafter". One might ask how? Our deepest guide in our beginning to be, is our imagination. Our ability to project, and mold our future selves from the myriad possibilities before us. And to imagine takes courage and effort. But it gives us hope too, hope that we can author our own destinies, hope that rightness of the decisions we make now will be borne out in the future. As much as we can be overwhelmed by the world, we can also draw hope from it. From beauty, from promise, from the simple fact that we have the talent to imagine our future selves from all the possible lives that pass before our eyes. We must imagine our lives well. We must engage our conscience. Conscience is the voice of God in the nature and heart of man."

Overall, I would definitely recommend this film to everyone. Even though it may become confusing at times, you cannot fault the directing or the acting, and the storyline that ultimately grasps the idea that an entire lifetime can be captured in a single moment. :)

Introduction.

Things are constantly in motion, and constantly changing, a bit like my life. I will be moving on to bigger and better things in a few months, even though I don't know where exactly i'll end up, I'm certain it will turn out for the best. I've always been a fan of spontaneity, yet my love of the unknown is not enough to overpower nerves. I've learnt alot in my life so far. No matter how much you recieve, you'll always want more, no matter how much you give, it will never seem enough. I've learnt that people you trust the most will turn their back on you, and hearts are never left unbroken. I've learnt that you will feel alone, yet a few moments later, feel loved. I've learnt that confusion is a common theme, and you cannot take back past events that you wish to forget.

I've learnt that respect is one of the most powerful forces on this earth, and without it you are nobody. I've learnt that you will have to cry, be hurt and feel rejected, yet also feel loved, protected and safe. I've learnt how to trust people again, to give people the benefit of the doubt, and second chances. I've learnt not to be see-through and voice my opinions. I've learnt how to fight for what I believe is right, and that prejudice has made this world a cold place. I've learnt that a fear of death is unnecessary, and change is inevitable. I've learnt how to appreciate the difference between minor and a sharp, and how to love music. I've learnt how it feels to feel the sun beating down on your face while lying on damp grass. I've learnt to treasure the most important things in life, and hold onto beautiful memories. This to me is life.

Okay, I know this is late, but this is a shot I was totally unprepared for, but I thought it looked nice :) This is what I wore on Valentines Day.

Dress: New Look (dots and stripes are the "in thing" this spring!)

I fell in love with this dress a couple of weeks ago, and it can be dressed so differently. If you are after a completely girly look, you can team it with heels and a light cardigan. If you want a more edgy look, you can team it with a leather jacket and heels (as shown above), or if you are after a more casual look, you can wear a thick knit cardigan with biker boots and leg warmers :)

I don't really know why I was holding my heels in my hands, but I've had them for 5 years! I brought them for £50 in Topshop, and they go with absolutely everything. Love them.

Beautiful Scents for Beautiful Girls.

I've seen many people on here raving about their favourite perfumes, so I thought I'd share my top three :)

Number 1: Jean Paul Gaultier Classique.

To me, this is the mother of all scents. If I had to pick one perfume to take on a desert island with me, it would be this one. It's quite a sweet scent, and is really refreshing, yet sexy at the same time. I would recommend this to anyone who loves feminine perfumes, as it's purely amazing, and a little goes a long way! The packaging is beautiful as well, and the bottle sits pretty on any dressing table. The only negative thing about this product is the price. This perfume is pretty expensive, and is around £40-45 for a 50ml bottle in Boots or the Perfume Shop in the UK. However, I managed to grab a 50ml bottle for £25 once in the Perfume Shop, as it was on a special promotion for one weekend only around summer last year. A word of warning- around Christmas/Valentines day, this particular perfume sells out pretty much everywhere, so if you want to drop your boyfriend/partner a hint...do it quick! ;)

Number 2: Paco Rabanne- Black XS.

To sum it up, this perfume is gorgeous! Its a really girly, sweet and floral scent (unlike the packaging) which to me is perfect :) It kind of reminds me of berries and vanilla? hmm. When you first spray it, it can be sickly sweet , but when the smell settles, it is beautiful, and lasts pretty much all day! If you are into super girly sweet scents, this one is a winner. I don't know why, but the bottle reminds me of the poison apple in Snow White?! I usually wear this one daily as it is cheaper to replace :) This perfume retails at around £27 in Superdrug, which for a perfume as wonderful as this, is a complete bargain!

Number 3: Ed Hardy- Love Kills Slowly.

I'm not going to lie, I asked to whiff this scent because I loved the packaging :P I was pleasantly surprised! I was expecting quite a strong, almost dark scent due to the design on the bottle, but it was a pleasant surprise! It is similar to Black XS in such a way that it is sweet and seductive, but it also has a certain musky "edge" to it. It's a really fruity scent, with hints of vanilla, but it's not too fruity that it's sickening. There you go ladies, major proof that you should never judge a perfume by its packaging! I wore this to work one day, and my workmate loved it so much that she went out and got a bottle on her lunch break! I've even had random people asking me in town, so surely it's a winner. I have run out of this at the moment :( but it's my birthday on the 27th so I'm hoping someone will get it for me!

Beautiful new jumper :)

As it's Friday, and I have officially finished my exams, I thought I'd blog about this AMAZING jumper I found in New Look the other day! Over the winter period, sequins, glitter and shimmer were the "in" thing. Although I never brought any item of clothing which was covered in the shiny stuff, I opted for tops and dresses with sequin detailing, so that I could wear them during the day, and not just when I was going out. I absolutely adore the new neutral colours spring 2010 is bombarding high street shops with, and when I saw this jumper in a beautiful nude pink, teamed with sequin detail on the shoulder, I didn't even have to think twice about buying it.

The jumper cost me £30 from New look, which is cheap compared to what Topshop are wanting for these type of jumpers! However, the sad news is that it is a Limited Edition item, and is apparently sold out online. I managed to get mine in store, but there were only about five or six. I was lucky I got my size 10! The top is also available in a grey colour, which my friend brought on the same day. It is just as gorgeous as the pink!

I think this jumper will look great with jeans and heels for a glamourous valentines look! :) My personal tip would be to wear your hair up, or keep it brushed to one side in order to show off the beautiful detailing, as it would be a shame to cover it up with hair!

This is it for now, because I'm so tired and can feel my eyes shutting! My bed is calling me!

Hello Lovelies!

Apologies for not posting sooner, I've had all sorts of Law assessments these past few weeks which have left me feeling absolutely drained! But as promised, here is a new blog with news on the 1click2fame contest I entered, and also some makeup rambles :)

Those of you who follow me on YouTube/Twitter/Facebook, will know that I have been posting videos and tweets asking you to vote for me in the 1click2fame online contest to win £25,000 worth of sponsorship money. Some of you may also know that I entered this competition a few months ago and missed out on the prize. As they say, if at first you don't succeed, try again...which I have done! Thanks you lovely voters I have got a place in the quarterfinal to compete for the £25,000 again in March! I hope you all vote again when I get to this stage :)

I was in the last quarterfinal and I can't wait to do it again! It was so amazing, and I worked with Robbie William's vocal coach, which is a once in a lifetime opportunity. My competition entry was recorded in a studio, which was then professionally filmed by Pulse TV. Hopefully this time I will have the chance to walk away with the prize :) It would make my life!

Moving on....

I've been searching forever for the perfect way to store my makeup, and I think I found it...in a book store?! I found this beauty in the sale section of WH Smiths, reduced from £15 to £10! Bargain!

The drawers are really deep, and it's great for any kind of storage. But how cute are those cupcakes? :) What are your thoughts?

LA and Miami 2009

Okay, so I've spent the past half an hour sprucing up my blog. Looks pretty neat I have to say!

ALOT has happened over the past few weeks! So I will try and go over everything so you guys are filled in

LA + MIAMI 09

I went to LA and Miami for Christmas break with my family, and it was absolutely beautiful. We did loads of really cool things such as going to Universal Studios, which I would definately recommend if you are heading to LA and have a free day on your hands! Here, we met the Simpsons!

For me, my highlight was going to the Guitar Centre. You may or may not know that I love music, and guitars! Seriously, this place was guitar heaven! If you're a guitarist or drummer and haven't been there before, I would highly recommend it! The staff are really friendly and you can pick up and play whatever guitar tickles your fancy!

And of course a trip to Disneyland was on the cards. Stepping into Disney land was like stepping into a dream. It was truly a place where you could lose yourself in dreams, and regain your precious memories of childhood. Despite what anyone can say, you are never ever too old for Disney. I also posed infront of the Hollywood sign....not something you do everyday. ;)

Christmas day was spent sunbathing on the beach in Miami. This was a shock to me, as English weather during the Christmas period is the equivelant to stepping into a freezer. What surprised me the most was that Miami did not go OTT with Christmas. There were no big banners, no carol singers, no christmas posters in shop windows, but a huge Christmas tree near the beach shops. In comparison to this, shops in England prepare for Christmas in October! It did not feel like Christmas at all to us, but we did manage to have a traditional Christmas dinner at Jerry's Diner :) The photo below shows the view from my hotel window :)

Overall, I had an amazing time, and I'd love to go back! Keep your eyes peeled for my next post, which will reveal details for my first gig which I am extremely excited about!

Right. I have completely downright failed to update this like I promised. Sorry guys, that's just me being a fag :)!

As most of you know, a lot has happened over the past few weeks - including the 1click2fame quarterfinal, which ended on Thursday. Bottom line, I came second, which is not as good as first, but is still just as fantastic! I'd just like to thank everyone who voted, you're all little angels! Or as I'd like to say it, fucking amazing. Because you wonderful people voted, I am in the final to win a £100,000 sponsorship in April, so keep your 1click accounts handy, and you can all vote again in a few months time!

Exciting news 1- I'm going for a family trip to LA and Miami next month! So I might, just might meet some of you lovely lot if you are from that part of town. I'm currently bashing google to see if there are any pubs/bars relatively close to where i'm staying so I can embarrass myself at open mic! Yeah mofoz.

Exciting news 2- I'm working on originals! Thank the sweet lord all mighty! They are no where near finished yet, but beware, they will be coming to a Youtube Channel near you very soon! It's nothing fancy. Just me, my guitar, and some harmonies. I physically can't wait to know what you think. I'm a perfectionist, so I want them to be the best they possibly can be before I go and put them on my YT. Bear with me.

Not so exciting news- I HAVE LOST MY NEW MAC BLUSHER. THIS MAKES ME VERY SAD.

MOST AMAZING NEWS ALERT!

As most of you know, I joined 1click2fame, and I have got through to bootcamp, thanks to all you wonderful amazing-a-ling people who voted for me! I got an email through today and bootcamp is only 12 days away!!!

I'm officially FREAKING out, as I have no idea what to do :| shit.

Actually erase "shit", and put a big fat FUCK IM SCREWED.

Looks like I'm going to be a busy busy girl for the next few days!

Back to the rest of today....pretty bland to be honest. Uni, lectures, oh and my daily dose of shopping!

I could not resist the going into MAC. Seriously, it's my heaven. I had a gander at the blush and lippies, but I only got a few things from there yesterday, so I thought I'd give my card a much need break. (L)
